State Veteran Benefits 2026: Disabled Veteran Property Tax Exemptions and Military Retired Pay Tax by State
What each state gives veterans on top of federal VA benefits: the property tax exemption for disabled veterans, and how the state taxes military retired pay. One row per state, each with its official source, and a full page per state.
Every state sets its own veteran benefits. The two that matter most to a retiree’s budget are the property tax exemption for disabled veterans, which in many states depends on the VA disability rating, and the state income tax on military retired pay. The table below gives both for every published state, each checked against the official source linked in its row (sources).
Official sources Checked against official sources on November 4, 2026. Only benefits confirmed on an official state or federal page are listed; a state not yet checked says so in its row.
