Nevada Veteran Benefits 2026: Property Tax Exemptions and Military Retired Pay Tax
The state benefits Nevada gives veterans and their surviving spouses: property tax exemptions, how the state taxes military retired pay, and other benefits, each with who qualifies, the amount, how to apply and the official source.
Nevada gives eligible wartime veterans a property tax exemption of $3,640 of assessed value. Veterans with a permanent service-connected disability of 60% or more get $18,200 (60-79%), $27,300 (80-99%) or $36,400 (100%), and a qualifying surviving spouse can inherit the disabled-veteran exemption. Either exemption can be applied to real property tax, personal property tax or the vehicle Governmental Services Tax. Nevada does not impose a state income tax on individuals, so military retired pay is not taxed by the state. (sources)
