Why we publish no 2027 projection: The Part A deductible is last year's amount moved by CMS's estimate of the hospital payment update and of the change in real case mix. The case-mix figure is CMS's own estimate and is not published beforehand, so any projection would be a guess rather than a formula. The Part B deductible is last year’s amount raised by the percentage increase in the Part B monthly actuarial rate (42 U.S.C. §1395l(b)), which CMS sets each autumn with the premium — so it cannot be known before the premium is. 2026 figures from CMS, 2026 Medicare Parts A & B Premiums and Deductibles (released 14 November 2025). This page is regenerated the day CMS announces 2027.
The Part A coinsurance amounts are fixed fractions of the deductible by statute: days 61–90 are one quarter of it, lifetime reserve days one half, and skilled nursing days 21–100 one eighth (42 U.S.C. §1395e (Social Security Act §1813)). So once CMS sets the 2027 deductible, the other three follow from it.
