2027 VA Disability Rates: 3.6% COLA Applied to Every Rating
What the 2027 VA disability rates will be once the 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment is applied to the 2026 table: every rating, with a spouse, children and parents.
VA disability compensation rises 3.6% for 2027, the same percentage as Social Security’s 2027 COLA (SSA 2027 COLA fact sheet). Applied to the 2026 table, a veteran with no dependents would get about $186.92 a month at 10%, $1,173.68 at 50%, $1,873.55 at 70% and $4,080.37 at 100%. These are our projections: VA had not published its 2027 table when we checked on November 4, 2026.
Projected The percentage is official (3.6%, SSA, October 14, 2026); the dollar amounts are our computation until VA posts its 2027 rates, which will take effect December 1, 2026 as each year’s do (VA: 2026 rates “Effective December 1, 2025”). VA says it is “required by law to match the percentage of cost-of-living adjustments made to Social Security benefits.” This page will be replaced with VA’s own figures when they are posted.

How the projection is computed
The veteran-alone rates and the 100% dependent amounts are raised 3.6% and rounded to the cent. For 30% to 90%, each dependent amount is the 100% amount times the rating, rounded down to the whole dollar, the proportional rule of 38 U.S.C. 1115 that VA’s whole-dollar amounts follow. We tested this method on last year’s change: applied to VA’s 2025 table with the 2.8% COLA, it reproduces every amount in VA’s 2026 table except the spouse Aid and Attendance add-on at 30% to 70%, which VA’s table pays $1 higher than the rule gives. VA’s own 2027 figures may differ from these by a few cents or a dollar.
