Vermont Property Tax Relief for Seniors 2026

Every statewide property tax break Vermont offers older homeowners that we could confirm on an official page: the type of relief, the age and income limits, the amount, how to apply and the deadline.

Vermont's main property tax relief for homeowners is the income-based Property Tax Credit, a circuit breaker with no age requirement. For 2026 (based on 2025 household income), it is open to homeowners with household income up to $115,400, and the maximum credit is $8,000. Renters who meet county and family-size income limits can claim a separate Renter Credit, also with no age requirement. (sources)
