Rhode Island Property Tax Relief for Seniors 2026
Every statewide property tax break Rhode Island offers older homeowners that we could confirm on an official page: the type of relief, the age and income limits, the amount, how to apply and the deadline.
Rhode Island's statewide senior program is the Property Tax Relief Credit (Form RI-1040H), a circuit breaker for homeowners and renters who are 65 or older or disabled and have household income of $40,730 or less. For tax year 2025, the latest year the Division of Taxation has published, the maximum credit is $700. The claim was due April 15, 2026, an extension does not extend it, and it is paid even if you owe no income tax. Rhode Island has no statewide senior homestead exemption or assessment freeze run by the state. (sources)
