Idaho Property Tax Relief for Seniors 2026

Every statewide property tax break Idaho offers older homeowners that we could confirm on an official page: the type of relief, the age and income limits, the amount, how to apply and the deadline.

Idaho homeowners 65 or older with 2025 income (after medical expenses) of $39,130 or less can get $250 to $1,500 off their 2026 property tax through the Property Tax Reduction (circuit breaker) program; apply by April 15, 2026. Seniors with 2025 income up to $61,674 can instead, or also, postpone property tax through the Property Tax Deferral program (apply by September 8, 2026), repaid with interest when the home is sold or the owner dies. All owner-occupants also get the homeowner's exemption of 50% of home value up to $125,000, which has no age test. (sources)
