In 2026 the IRS Uniform Lifetime Table divides the prior year-end balance by a set factor for each age. At 73 the factor is 26.5, so a $1,000,000 IRA has a required minimum distribution of $37,736. At 75 the factor is 24.6 ($40,650) and at 80 it is 20.2 ($49,505).

Each cell is the balance divided by that age's Uniform Lifetime Table factor. The percentage of the balance rises every year as the factor falls. If your age is not one of the three above, the full 2026 divisor table carries every age from 72 to 120 and will work out the distribution on your own balance.
