All QuantCalc Chrome extensions run entirely in your browser. Your financial data never leaves your computer. We collect only anonymous usage analytics (install/uninstall, session counts) to improve our products. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any of your personal or financial information.

What Data We Collect
No personal or financial data. We collect only anonymous usage analytics — see the "Anonymous Usage Analytics" section below for details. Your income, expenses, and calculation results never leave your browser.
Data You Enter
All data you enter into any QuantCalc extension (income amounts, expenses, filing status, state selection) is:
- Stored only in your browser's local storage (Chrome's
chrome.storage.localAPI) - Never transmitted to any external servers
- Never shared with QuantCalc or any third parties
- Accessible only to you on your local machine
PRO License Keys
If you purchase the PRO upgrade ($4.99), you will receive a license key. This key is:
- Stored locally in your browser's storage
- Validated within the extension (client-side only)
- Never transmitted to our servers after initial purchase
The license key purchase is processed by Creem.io, our payment processor. See their privacy policy for payment data handling.
Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions:
Storage Permission
Used to save your calculation inputs, PRO license key (if purchased), and an anonymous analytics client ID in your browser's local storage.
Network Access
Used solely to send anonymous usage analytics to Google Analytics via the Measurement Protocol. No financial data or personal information is transmitted.
What we DON'T request:
- No host permissions (cannot read or modify any web pages)
- No tabs permission (cannot see your browsing history)
- No cookies permission
Third-Party Services
Creem.io (Payment Processor)
If you purchase the PRO upgrade, payment processing is handled by Creem.io. They collect payment information (credit card, billing address, email) necessary to process the transaction. We do not have access to your payment details.

Anonymous Usage Analytics
To improve our extensions, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage data via Google Analytics 4 (Measurement Protocol). This includes:
- Extension lifecycle events: install, update, and uninstall (so we know if a version has issues)
- Session events: popup opens (so we know how often the extension is used)
- Calculator runs: that a calculation was performed (NOT the inputs or results)
- Extension metadata: extension name, version, and Chrome-assigned extension ID
What we do NOT collect:
- No financial data (income, expenses, tax amounts, or calculation results)
- No personally identifiable information (name, email, IP address)
- No browsing history or activity outside the extension
- No cookies — analytics uses a randomly generated anonymous ID stored in your browser's local extension storage
Analytics data is sent to Google Analytics and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We use this data solely to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the extension.
Data Security
Since your data never leaves your browser, it is as secure as your local Chrome profile. We recommend:
- Keeping Chrome and the extension updated
- Using a strong password for your Chrome profile if syncing across devices
- Clearing stored data from the extension settings if you share your computer
Data Deletion
To delete your data:
- Clear all stored data: Remove the extension from Chrome. All stored data is deleted when you uninstall.
- Clear stored inputs: Open Chrome DevTools (F12), go to Application → Storage → Local Storage → chrome-extension://[extension-id] and clear all entries.
Children's Privacy
The extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, the "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Material changes will be communicated via the Chrome Web Store listing.
